Community Deposit: Pool Together, Reward Everyone

Customers pay a small deposit to join the pool. The bigger the total deposited, the bigger the reward for all who join.

Community Deposit lets your regulars commit to you ahead of a busy season. You open a pool with a target size, a closing date and a reward curve: a spring coffee pool, say, or a winter bread bundle. Customers deposit, and the reward grows with the group's total. If the target is missed, every deposit is returned in full.

It suits shops with a loyal local base, people happy to commit early when the deposit is small and safe. Anyone who joins has a stake in the pool filling up, which gives them a reason to tell friends about it.

Who it's for
Community Deposit for Restaurants

Community Deposit for Restaurants

Before ordering ingredients and booking extra staff for a themed tasting night, a restaurant wants to know people will come.

Guests put down a deposit to join the pool, so the restaurant can see committed demand before it confirms the night.

If the pool reaches its target, the night goes ahead with a known head count. If it doesn't, guests get their deposits back and the restaurant hasn't bought a thing.

Community Deposit for Gyms

Community Deposit for Gyms

Every January a gym signs up a wave of new members, and by February half of them have stopped coming.

A deposit turns a resolution into a small commitment, and because the reward grows with the group, early joiners have a reason to bring their friends.

Members train alongside people they brought in themselves, which makes it harder to drift away by February.

Community Deposit for Bakeries

Community Deposit for Bakeries

Christmas pastries take days to prepare, and a bakery that guesses wrong ends up with a full bin or an empty shelf.

A pre-order pool shows the bakery how much customers have committed before the rush, so it doesn't have to guess how much to bake.

The flour order matches the deposits, and customers collect their pastries with the extra credit the pool earned.

How it works

  1. Open a new pool in Gamma Business: size, duration and reward curve.
  2. Customers join the pool in Gamma Wallet and pay the amount they choose at the shop.
  3. As the total deposited grows, the reward percentage rises.
  4. On closing day, balances become redeemable at your counter.
Merchant

Deposits come in before the pool closes, so you see demand early.

Customer

The more the community deposits, the bigger everyone's reward. If the pool misses its target, all deposits come back in full.

Direct Credit can be activated on top of any reward model above, for a small extra fee at your tier. The "+ Direct Credit" column shows the total price.

The max spend counted applies to each client in each pool, not to the pool's total. If a client spends more than this while the pool is active, the extra doesn't count towards their reward. A pool's total is what all clients spend, each counted up to this limit.

How the €200 credit ceiling works

Separately, a client can hold at most €200 in reward credit at any one retailer, however many pools they join. If a client already holds €140 there and a new purchase would earn more than €60 in reward, only €60 is credited. The client should spend some of that credit first, then keep buying in the pool to build back up towards the €200 limit.

Push and in-app notifications never cost anything, at any tier. Email carries a small per-broadcast cost that rises with your tier.

Reactivation limits

A client can take part in a Community Purchase or Community Deposit pool at most once every 2 months, across both combined.

A retailer can activate a new Community Purchase or Community Deposit pool at most once every 2 months.

Frequently asked

What happens if a Community Deposit pool doesn't reach its target?

Every deposit is returned in full, so customers lose nothing if the pool doesn't reach its target.

How is a Community Deposit pool different from crowdfunding?

A Community Deposit pool rewards only the people who joined it. Their deposit goes towards their own future purchases at your shop, not towards funding someone else's product or idea.
