Layered Reward: Tiers That Grow With Spend

First-time visitors earn a small reward. Regulars earn more, moving up a tier each time their lifetime spend passes a threshold you set.

Layered Reward splits one program into tiers. You set the thresholds, for example Bronze at €100, Silver at €300 and Gold at €600, and give each tier its own reward. When a customer's lifetime spend passes a threshold, Gamma moves them up automatically, so you never have to keep count.

Customers see their tier in Gamma Wallet and how far they are from the next one, so coming back has a clear goal. The model suits shops where basket sizes vary a lot and the regulars who spend most should earn far more than someone on a first visit.

Who it's for
Layered Rewards for Wine Shops

Layered Rewards for Wine Shops

Some customers of an independent wine shop buy one bottle for Friday dinner. Others order by the case every month. The owner wanted the second group to feel the difference.

Each case adds to the customer's lifetime spend, so collectors climb to Silver and Gold quickly while occasional buyers stay on the first tier.

Shelf prices stayed the same for all customers. Collectors get their extra value as reward credit to spend on their next order.

Layered Rewards for Gyms

Layered Rewards for Gyms

A small gym sells classes, personal training and drop-in sessions. It wanted newcomers to earn something in their first week and long-standing members to have something to aim for.

Rewards start with the first purchase, and each class or session adds to the member's lifetime spend until they reach the next tier.

Members check their progress in Gamma Wallet, and staff no longer get asked how close someone is to Gold.

Layered Rewards for Boutiques

Layered Rewards for Boutiques

A fashion boutique sells most in spring and autumn. Its best customers can spend nothing for months and then buy a whole season's wardrobe in one go.

Tiers follow lifetime spend and never reset, so a quiet summer doesn't cost a customer the tier they reached in spring.

When the new collection arrives, the best customers are still on Gold and earn the bigger reward from their first purchase of the season.

Direct Credit can be activated on top of any reward model above, for a small extra fee at your tier. The "+ Direct Credit" column shows the total price.

The max spend counted applies to each client in each pool, not to the pool's total. If a client spends more than this while the pool is active, the extra doesn't count towards their reward. A pool's total is what all clients spend, each counted up to this limit.

How the €200 credit ceiling works

Separately, a client can hold at most €200 in reward credit at any one retailer, however many pools they join. If a client already holds €140 there and a new purchase would earn more than €60 in reward, only €60 is credited. The client should spend some of that credit first, then keep buying in the pool to build back up towards the €200 limit.

Push and in-app notifications never cost anything, at any tier. Email carries a small per-broadcast cost that rises with your tier.

Frequently asked

How does Gamma know which tier a customer is in?

Each scan adds to the customer's lifetime spend. As soon as it passes a threshold, Gamma moves them to the next tier, with nothing for you to review.

What happens to a customer's tier if they stop visiting?

They keep it. Tiers are based on lifetime spend, so a break of a few months doesn't move anyone down.
